The jumping lunge can help develop explosive strength and power for football. Core stabilization is vital while holding an upright posture from the lunge position. An upright position consists of ear, shoulder, & hip alignment from the start. By drawing the belly button in and up, this will activate the deep abdominal wall for stabilization of the spine and provide better balance while performing the exercise.

While in this position, explosively accelerate the legs into a jump, by pushing through the front heel.

While in the air, alternate the legs so that you land in the exact position of the strart with the opposite leg forward.

This may take practice, so begin with just your body weight. As you begin to get comfortable with the exercise and can keep a good, supported position, it is then you may begin to add weight.
Good luck, and have fun!!!
"I was going into my
eighth year of professional basketball and knew that I needed a competitive advantage. I'd heard of Josh through some other athletes I trusted and thought why not? After a summer with Josh, I realize now he pushed me to new levels of strength, agility, and endurance that transferred directly to better play on the court. Even when you are 30 and trying to maintain an edge, Josh knew exactly how to get me there. I thank him for spending the time and sharing his passion with me in helping me reach my athletic goals."
